On Sunday, May 19, 2019, we will host our inaugural Teen Circle Summit from 9:00am-3:00pm. This summit will foster the role of youth as future leaders while providing experiential opportunities for youth to express ideas and opinions in a safe space. Youth will participate in fun and engaging activities that help develop their social emotional and soft skills.
Up until 13 years old, Mona Dixon and her familylived on the streets and moved from one homeless shelter to another. However, despite her humble beginnings, Mona believes in turning setbacks in life into motivators to succeed and uses her story to inspire others!
In 2010, Mona was named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) 64th National Youth of the Year, where she represented over 4 million youth all over the world. She met with President Obama in the Oval Office at 17 and was later appointed by him to serve on the board of directors for the Corporation for National and Community Service. At 18, Mona was also named 1 of 28 Most Influential Black Women in America by Essence Magazine. This has all led to her being awarded over $100,000 in scholarships, sharing the stage with very influential celebrities, and being featured in the media.
Now, at just 25 years old, Mona is pursuing her doctoral degree in organizational leadership and fulfilling her life’s purpose as a Teen Empowerment Leader, Speaker, & Coach.
See you next year
